Comments about Stamina Stamina 1205 Precision Rower:

I've only used the Stamina 1205 Precision Rower twice now, and I plan to use it 2-3 times a week for 15-30 minutes for general aerobic fitness. Assembly was simple and straighforward. It operates very smoothly and quiet enough that my wife wasn't even annoyed while we watched a movie. The range of hydraulic resistance was much larger than I expected which makes it suitable for aerobic and strength training. Resistance settings do not perfectly match on left and right side, but once you use it a couple times, you can tweek the setting to get identical resistance on both sides. One small complaint I have is due to the placement of the footrest pivot point. I cannot push off using the balls of my feet which takes away from being able to work my calf muscles. I may be able to make an adjustment to how I strap in, but I haven't tried that yet. Otherwise, the machine is comfortable, quiet, smooth, and very convenient. Storage is easy; Bed Raisers allow me to store it under my bed. You won't be disappointed with this rower! As a mechanical engineer, I believe this is a quality machine that will no doubt last a lifetime!

Comments about Stamina Stamina 1205 Precision Rower:

I bought this rowing machine for days when the weather was bad and couldn't make it out for a run. It exceeded my expectations. It was fairly easy to put together. It operates so smoothly and quietly, and it's a great workout. The only thing that I can see that does not work exactly like it's supposed to is the monitor. It does not give the speed, like it's supposed to, but that's really the only bad thing I can say about it.

Service & Delivery comments:

The delivery was very fast, and it was packaged to prevent any damage to the machine.

First off, this thing can give you a KILLER workout in a short period of time. Rowing is tough, but the benefits are well worth the effort. It's a great aerobic/muscle building combo, which I love. Overall a good value when compared to other wimpy machines that cost way more. Good work Stamina.

I've had my Stamina 1205 for about a week now and use it each morning. And I'm already seeing an increase in my metabolism! What a great machine. I put it together in about 30-45 minutes and jumped on it that night. I sure am glad I purchased it! I had a rowing machine years ago, but this unit puts my old one to shame!
My goal of seeing my "six pack" again is now underway! If you want a serious rowing machine - don't wait! Trust me - get it!

I just got my stamina 1205 rower and love it.Its exactly what I ordered .Its easy to put together and use. Can't wait to get a workout program started.
The only thing I found during assembely was in step #3 it doesn't call up any flat washers and none are supplied, but there needed to cover the slotted holes to keep the lock washers from pulling through the brackets. I installed some anyway. As I said above I love it.

I like to use the product in the evenings while watching TV. I've had the rower for about 2 weeks and it was fairly quiet at first, but I have noticed it is starting to make a loud squeak when pulling back on the bars. It seems to do this once the shocks have become hot. It did take 2 people to put together and took us about 45 mins. All in all, its the product that I had expected and would refer a friend.

As a personal trainer who trains from my house, the right equipment is essential for my clients as well as for my own personal use. I ordered the stamina because it was reasonably priced, portable, and works all major muscle groups. It has been a great addition for my circuit training and also for interval training. Only thing that has been an issue is the resistance element. It loosens up during workouts. Not a huge hinderance.

Comments about Stamina Stamina 1205 Precision Rower:

[...] I could have gotten this machine anywhere else for the same price, but only the Rowing Machine offered a 5 year Warrenty. That is what sealed the deal for me. On to the machine. It is a sturdy, relatively easy machine to use that is very easy to setup. So far I have not run into any of the issues of shock problem and roller problem that some of the other buyers have encountered, but with a 5 year warranty, who cares. My problem is that I am too impulsive of a buyer that is always looking for the great price for an item. I wish that I would have researched other rowing machines to find the one that would make me the happiest. I do not like the fact that I have to manually change the resistance on the machine, but that is my fault for not buying a machine that has the automatic function. I do not like the fact that there are no preprogramed workouts on the machine, but this too is my fault for not buying a machine that offers this function. All in all, if you are looking for an inexpensive rowing machine that has little to no frills, this is your machine. With a 5 year warranty [...], you can't go wrong. If you are looking for something more advanced, check out the more expensive models offered by TRMSS and get what you truely want.

Comments about Stamina Stamina 1205 Precision Rower:

This is the first time I've tried rowing. I'm very pleased with this rowing machine. It's sturdy. Took a while to put it together, but I think that was my fault. It's very quiet and offers plenty of resistance. It's kind of hard to see the monitor with it being way down by your feet, but that's the only complaint I have.

Service & Delivery comments:

Fast delivery. Item arrived in perfect shape. I did call customer service before I purchased and the rep. was very, very helpful. I appreciated all the order status alerts, too.

Comments about Stamina Stamina 1205 Precision Rower:

This is our first rowing machine and we had no idea what to expect. Didn't want to spend a lot of money without knowing how we would like rowing. We are very satisfied with this product and would recommend it to others. I'm not so crazy with the feet straps; they are huge and you are basically just keeping your feet on the pedals on your own but it seems to work out just fine. My husband had no problems putting it together. Also, there are no instructions on how to use the meter that it has so we are lost on it's operation. Overall, we have really enjoyed using the rowing machine and are satisfied with what we received for the money that was spent. We may move on to bigger and better once we are "expert" at this one but overall are happy with this product. It was money well spent.

Service & Delivery comments:

The rowing machine arrived very quickly and all parts were included. No problems in this area at all.

I use it every other day. When friends visit they can't stay off of it. I've bought several excercise machines of various sorts over the years. And wind up selling or giving them away. My old roommate told me the same day I got this "If you decide to give this away later, um, yeah, I want it!" lol I said I'll be holding on to this one. I love it. It's a great way to excercise. I've been wanting one for a while. And am very glad I finally got it.

I have used rowing machines of this type on and off for the past 25 years. The rubber spacer between the center beam and the Pedal began disintegrating within one week of use. There should be a washer between the two parts. I purchased two metric washers and installed them in order to assure that the machine would not fail within a short period of time.

Comments about Stamina Stamina 1205 Precision Rower:

This is the second rower I've bought in the last six years. The first one was great. Can't remember the brand name, but it was built more solid and helped me loose over 100 lbs. I'm at 198 lbs now and, when my other rower needed to be retired, I thought getting this Stamina 1205 would fit the bill.

I had problems from the beginning:
1) the setup was FAR more complicated that what it should be.
2) parts were missing

Then, about two weeks after I purchased it, the right hand shock started giving me problems. I called for a replacement part and they did ship it, but the replacement part only lasted a month, and then it started oozing out oil!!!! Good thing I exercise in my utility room because it would have ruined my carpet.

Also, the seat now doesn't give a smooth ride. I can't believe how bad this product is. Here's a piece of advice: don't buy this product, and if you do, don't work out with it in a carpeted area.

This is the worst rower and I cannot even recommend this to my worst enemies...and I'm a fairly nice fellow. I apologize for the bluntness of this review, but I'm really disappointed and I want a full refund.

Comments about Stamina Stamina 1205 Precision Rower:

I was delighted to receive an addition benefit from my rower. I had a cronic shoulder problem that just flat out disapeared just weeks into my rowing workouts. My only negative comment could be that the pistons started to make alot of squeaking sounds during my workouts, that is a small price to pay for the benefits I've received.

The machine was easy to set up and is well-made. I've used it often during the last year; nothing has failed or worn. It provides good total-body exercise, and can easily be set for increasing strength levels. I'm 6'2 - the machine might be small for someone much taller, but is fine for my height. Overall - a lot of well-designed machine for the price[...] no complaints.

Comments about Stamina Stamina 1205 Precision Rower:

I use the rowing machine for about 25 minutes a days, five days a week. Given my age, the available settings (mechanical) on the machine make it possible for me to get a decent workout. The seating is comfortable, but the machine squeaks a lot. All said and done, it's a good value for the price I paid.

Service & Delivery comments:

The product was in good condition and it reached me in Virginia within 3 days. I was satisfied enough both with the quality of the machine and the customer service I received from rowingmachines.com, that I bought a second Stamina rowing machine (not the same model) from them for one of my family members. That machine too is performing well.

I use the Stamina 1205 to maintain the condition of my upper body especially. I use the treadmill daily but the Rower provides an excellent balance in my daily routine. It's very smooth, quiet, easy to use, the seat is comfortable, gives a great workout, and I just lean it on end against the wall when not in use. Allow plenty of time to put the parts together and use a socket wrench to make assembly easier. I'm very glad I bought it.

Comments about Stamina Stamina 1205 Precision Rower:

This is a great product for someone who is just beginning to work-out or needs supplemental cardio in their current routine. As someone who has tried a lot of exercise equipment, I would rate this as average. I love the fact that you can sit it in front of the television and row away. However, the tightener clamps on the rowing arms constantly slip. I have to stop rowing and retighten them--very annoying. The seat gets a little uncomfortable after about 10 minutes, but it is tolerable. It does seem to run quietly which is important as I live in an apartment building. I use the rower on cold mornings for supplemental cardio or when I cannot run or do step aerobics and weight training.

We use the rowing machine 3-4 times a week. It gives you a nice workout.

The machine went together rather easily. One area lacking was the instructions regarding the tightness required for some of the bolts. If to tight, you get a squeal.

The timer was not used. It seemed to be to complicated to set up. We use an egg timer with a bell to tell us the end of our workout.

I would recommend this unit to anyone that is looking for a low impact exercise machine.

Comments about Stamina Stamina 1205 Precision Rower:

I also have an elipticl trainer and a weider weight machine and over the years have had all kinds of equipment.
I purchased this model/price so be sure I could and would use it. A rower can be a problem if you have low back problems if you are not careful with your form. It is low impact on joints which is one of my problems. I am 66 yrs old.

I really like this little baby. It works out so many muscles, gets your heart rate going and doesn't take up any room to speak of.

When this one wears out I will buy a more expensive model. You do get what you pay for...you don't expect to get a lexus for the price of a Ford.

Best Uses:

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Stamina Stamina 1205 Precision Rower:

It's a solid build and is light enough to move from room to room. My problem is with the pistons. I ordered this product back in April and within 40 days noticed the left piston had lost resistance (I was using it daily). I ordered the replacement and received it in about two weeks. About 15 days ago I started using it again in my daily workout when the replacement piston sprung a leak and spilled oil all over my carpet. Not only that but the right piston has been losing resistance as well. I have both on the lowest setting so I can't understand why they are failing. I'm going to order replacements again, but only to sell it. The pistons just don't seem durable enough for daily use.

Comments about Stamina Stamina 1205 Precision Rower:

I purchased the rower to help me be more agressive in re-habing after shoulder surgery. As with most shoulder surgery recovery routines, mine featured avoiding exercises that put stress on the joint by having the hands above shoulder height while bearing weight. The rower offered repetitive resistance training that did not jeopardize the shoulder joint. As a result, I returned to the tennis court sooner and with less pain and more range of motion than if I hadn't used the rower.

Comments about Stamina Stamina 1205 Precision Rower:

This rowing machine is so easy to use it's actually fun. Just set up with a nearby radio or in front of a TV and you forget you're actually doing exercise! And best of all, it works too. You definetly feel the heart rate rise and begin to find muscles you had forgotten existed. The only down side of the machine is that it's difficult to store and conceal under any of my furniture, so it either stays in the middle of my floor or propped up against a wall. Other that that I highly recommend this machine for the beginner or the athlete wanting to stay up on their performance.

Describe Yourself:
Gym Rat
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Stamina Stamina 1205 Precision Rower:

A good (but generic) rower with a few downsides. Within the first week or so, one of the gas pistons sprung a leak; the company sent a replacement part immediately. Also, the foam handgrips tend to wear and split rather quickly if you use the machine regularly (4+ days a week). Finally, the left foot rest gnawed its plastic spacer (the part that separates the foot rest from the main body) into powder. This eventually led to the foot rest occasionally banging against the main body of the rower.

All in all, though, if you're interested in trying out rowing as an exercise but don't want to pay for an expensive machine or a gym membership, this is a good start to see if you want to invest further. Also, with the great customer service and the 5-year warranty, those part problems will probably be moot in the long run.

Service & Delivery comments:

Customer service was great! They were incredibly friendly and replaced a broken piston within days.

Comments about Stamina Stamina 1205 Precision Rower:

I work out 6-7 days a week and try to vary my routine often. I use the rower as an alternative for walking, running, step aerobics, and other forms of cardio. I also weight train regularly and was suprised to find that the rower had enough resistance to challenge my back, biceps and core. I would recommend this machine to a beginner or to a more seasoned athlete who's looking for something different to try. There are some points that could be improved on the machine, however. Even with the screws tightened, the arms on the machine are a little unstable with a side to side motion that shouldn't be there. Also, after the first use, the hand grips tore and continue to rip further. Lastly, the resistance knobs loosen during use, so you have to stop to reposition and tighten them. That is VERY annoying. For the money, it's a decent product and a nice change of pace.

Comments about Stamina Stamina 1205 Precision Rower:

2-3 times a week, when I got home from work, I would pull the Stamina 1205 out from under the bed and use it for 20-30 minutes. It doesn't even require that much room to work out in; if you can sit on the floor with your legs in front of you, then you have plenty of room for it. The only complaint, though not serious, is that it's a little noisy if you use it upstairs. I just lost 80 pounds in a year, and I used this piece of equipment very often, and it held up very well.

Comments about Stamina Stamina 1205 Precision Rower:

I workout 6-7 days per week, cardio and strength training. I currently use the rower on my lighter workout days as a warm-up for something else. The worst part is that I have to "rotate" the rollers like car tires b/c they wear down which happened when I was using the product 2 times per week for 30 minutes each session. I have already replaced them 4 times in less than 2 years. [...] The rollers were so worn down there were holes in them so, I was unable to use the rower during that entire time. Needless to say I was not happy and will most likely never buy a Stamina product again. [...]

A handy friend modified my rower by adding two hydraulic pistons opposite the standard ones (ordered from the manufacturer) so that the rower supplies resistance in both directions, not just on the pull stroke, but on the push stroke too. This provides for a more balanced workout.

I use the modified rower three times a week. I love it. Thanks for asking!

Comments about Stamina Stamina 1205 Precision Rower:

This rowing machine tones the upper arm muscles & torso, strengthens the stomach muscles, and tightens the upper leg muscles. I use it in place of weights. The resistance and repeat rowing adds strength to most of your body muscles used daily. I purchased the rowing machine to keep my arm muscles tone, but found out my stomach muscles and leg muscles were indeed also benefiting greatly.

If this Stamina 1205 rower is as good as a similar Tunturi I used for many years I will be impressed. So far so good. The Stamina doesn't hog space. It stands inconspicuously behind a door when not in use. While I go to gym often, it is a time-saver when I am busy and don't want to take time driving to and from the fitness center. Also, it doesn't guzzle a bit of gas, and important plus these days. I am quite happy with it.

I need something that is low impact that I can do anytime, this is it. I like to bike, but if its cold or raining for get about it. I can get a maximum workout in a relatively shorter amount if time, than comapared to biking or lifting. Not knowing whether I would stick with it or not.....this rower delivers, its actually fun. This product however affordable is already beginning to show signs of wear. The pistons are beginning to show highly reduced resistance after only fifteen to twenty minutes of woking out and I've had to replace some of the rubber spacers with steel washers(due to heavy wear from use). The product is very study and for the first two months offered a very aerobic workout, even at the lowest setting. This machine is for those who want to buy a beginner machine with the intention of upgrading if they get hooked, or for the gym lover that cant get there that day and has a back-up machine.

Comments about Stamina Stamina 1205 Precision Rower:

It's compact and stores easy in the closet, but that's where I've been keeping it for weeks. To change the resistance you tighten something on the side but it'll move in the middle of your workout and then you'll stop and fix it and it will happen over and over. Its basically a cheap machine made in china.

Comments about Stamina Stamina 1205 Precision Rower:

The rower meets every expectation and perhaps exceeds them. It is sturdy, it adjusts easily to the desired tension, and it is comfortable. As a bonus it's light enough to store leaning against a wall and then move in front of the evening TV news during exercise. A good device.

Comments about Stamina Stamina 1205 Precision Rower:

Didn't write easy storage, b/c I don't have to store it. Great construction. Didn't want all the bells and whistles. Didn't need them. Keeps my workout simple and I love the results. Nice arms and firmer abs. A lot of bang for the buck. Very happy.
